Sapa
is a former French hill station situated in the sweeping valleys
near the Chinese border. Its high elevation of 1600 meters creates
its cool climate which inspired the French to build villas there
as a summer retreat. Today, Sapa still attracts visitors for its
stunning scenery, comfortable climate, colorful markets, and a
variety of ethnic hill tribes who live in nearby villages. This
program has increasingly become popular through the years with
improvements in the road conditions and the new 4-star Victoria
Sapa Hotel making travel today much easier and more comfortable.

Day
1 : Hanoi - Mai Chau
We depart Hanoi at 0800 heading west towards Hoa Binh City
where we stop for refreshments. Leaving Hoa Binh we climb
towards the Mai Chau valley, about another two hours away,
stopping on the way to take in the spectacular scenery.
Following lunch in Mai Chau town we drive to the White Thai
village of Khoe. From here we will start our 3-hour trek
to the village of Xo. Our hosts for this evening will be
the White Thai minority people. In sampling these peoples
hospitality, we find out a little more of their lives and
cultures with a cultural exchange following the evening
meal. Tonight's accommodation will probably be a little
more rustic than you would be used to. (Lunch & Dinner included).
Day
2 : Xo village - Poong Com village
Following breakfast we begin our trek for the day. Todays
walk will be around 14 km. We begin by crossing the mountains
and back down into the Mai Chau valley to Poong Com village.
As we walk we will encounter the local villagers going about
their daily business tilling the fields, logging or herding
the buffalo. By lunchtime we get to our destination of some
of the most beautiful villages in the Mai Chau area. We
dine and overnight with a local Thai family. (Lunch & Dinner
included).
Day
3 : Mai Chau -Boat trip on Da river -Hanoi
This morning we have the opportunity to stroll around Lac
village before we depart on our return journey to Hoa Binh
town for lunch.Boat trip on DaRiver about 3 hours. From
here it is a 2-hour drive back to Hanoi. We will arrive
in Hanoi around 1800 (Breakfast & lunch included)
